Donna Holt

Special Education Specialist

Donna Holt is the Early Childhood Special Education Specialist for Region 7 Education Service Center in Kilgore, TX. She works with early childhood special education (ECSE) educators, school administrators, related service providers, and families in nurturing the social, emotional, fine motor, gross motor, communication, cognitive, and language development of young children receiving special education services.

As the ECSE specialist, she provides training, technical assistance, support, and coaching in the
areas of early childhood special education (ECSE), early childhood intervention (ECI), transition from ECI to ECSE/Prekindergarten, positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), designing positive and supportive classroom climate, structures, and arrangement (LRE), and developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).

Donna began her teaching career in 2000 at Tyler ISD’s St. Louis School/Wayne D. Boshear’s Center for Exceptional Programs. In 2005, she transitioned to teaching Early Childhood Special Education (formally known as PPCD). Her career path curved a little in 2013 when she became the Early Childhood Special Education Specialist at Region 7 ESC.

Donna has a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies – Special Education, and Masters of Science in Early Childhood Studies.
